Ceramic crowns

Ceramic crowns Wuppertal do not have a metal frame, the color and transparency are as close as possible to natural teeth. They can be installed on the front and chewing teeth, as well as on implants.

We use world-famous metal-free ceramics, carry out diagnostics on a modern 3D scanner, and manufacture orthopedic structures using CAD / CAM prosthetics.

Advantages of metal-free ceramics

Unlike cermets, all-ceramics do not cause allergies, cyanosis of the gingival margin, and provide an impeccable aesthetics of a smile. In addition, the installation of ceramics, as a rule, requires less preparation (turning) of healthy abutment teeth.

Types of ceramic crowns

All-ceramic E-max

Manufactured from E-max glass fiber ceramic (lithium disilicate). The crystal structure of this material in terms of optical properties and shades is as close as possible to natural tooth enamel. Thanks to this, artificial ceramic teeth cannot be distinguished from real ones.

There are 2 types of E-max ceramic crowns depending on the manufacturing method:

  • IPS E-max PRESS (pressed ceramic). They are made by sintering several ceramic layers in molds under pressure, due to which high strength of orthopedic products is achieved.
IPS E-max PRESS pressed ceramics are mainly used for areas of the dentition where higher strength is required.
  • IPS E-max CAD (milled CAD/CAM). They are made from monolithic ceramic blocks on a dental milling machine according to a digital 3D model of the patient’s oral cavity.
The CAD/CAM technology is used in cases where it is necessary to achieve the filigree precision of the restoration, for example, when restoring an anterior incisor.

E-max metal-free ceramic is the ideal solution for restorations in the smile area. Ceramic crowns Wuppertal

Whole zirconium

Made from zirconia, a type of metal-free ceramic. Solid zirconia crowns are of 2 types:

  • Monolithic opaque. Orthopedic restorations are made from opaque zirconia, the strongest available prosthetic material (30% stronger than cermet). Due to their opaque structure and unnaturally white color, metal-free dentures are mainly used to restore chewing teeth.
  • Multilayer (Multi-Layer). The raw material for the manufacture of these products is multilayer zirconia with 4 layers of different transparency, the same as in natural teeth. Ceramic zirconium multi-layer crowns, installed on the anterior teeth, provide excellent aesthetics of a smile, practically do not differ from neighboring dental units.

Zirconia with ceramic cladding

Only the framework of the crown is made from zirconia, which is then covered with layers of ceramic and fired in a kiln. Porcelain veneer provides an impeccable appearance of the restoration and maximum similarity to other units of the dentition.

Ceramic crowns on a zirconia framework are suitable for prosthetics of the anterior teeth, as well as for the restoration of premolars. In the chewing region, they are used with caution, since high loads can lead to chipping of ceramics.

The cost of ceramic crowns in “Tsypin” dentistry

The prices for crowns indicated in the table do not include: expenses for examination, treatment and preparation for prosthetics (professional hygiene, caries treatment, strengthening of the crown part with a pin or inlay, implantation).

You can find out how much a turnkey ceramic crown costs only after examining and examining the patient in our clinic. Ceramic crowns Wuppertal

Stages of installation of ceramic crowns

  1. At the initial consultation, the patient is examined by specialized doctors: a general practitioner, an orthopedic dentist, and other specialists (if necessary). An x-ray examination is carried out, the results of which determine the amount of preparatory work and options for prosthetics. A treatment plan is being drawn up.

Terms: 1 day.

2. Before installing a ceramic crown, the tooth must be cleaned of caries, pre-grinded, and in case of severe destruction, strengthened with a ceramic or zirconium inlay.

After preparatory measures, individual impressions are taken for the manufacture of an orthopedic structure.

Terms: the manufacture of a crown or denture in a dental laboratory takes up to 7 days.

Tsyping Dentistry uses the latest generation intraoral 3D scanner, which allows you to get a three-dimensional model of the oral cavity without the use of classic wax casts. This relieves patients from discomfort, and allows us to create orthopedic structures with an accuracy of hundredths of a millimeter.

3. Orthopedic design is installed in one visit. After fitting in the oral cavity and adjusting as necessary, the ceramic crown is fixed on the stump of the abutment tooth with dental light-curing cement.

How long can metal-free ceramics last?

A ceramic crown, if properly maintained, can last from 7 to 20 years. For various types of metal-free prosthetic structures, the service life may differ:

  • All-zirconium and ceramic E-max – thanks to the monolithic structure, they can last from 12 to 20 years.
  • Ceramic on a zirconium frame are more capricious and serve from 7 to 12 years. Their weak point is the ceramic lining, which can chip off over time from hard food or heavy chewing loads.

Of course, the life of an artificial tooth depends on whether the patient follows the doctor’s recommendations for oral care. However, to a greater extent, durability is affected by the quality of the design and strict adherence by the orthopedist to the prosthetic protocol. Ceramic crowns Wuppertal
